Family Science and Social Work Scholarships

To apply, ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs must complete an application. Some scholarships may include a required essay response, a current transcript and/or DAR, and a resume. The application must be complete, with no missing information. Incomplete applications will not be considered. These scholarships are competitive. Please check the eligibility when applying.

Graduate Program Scholarships and Assistantships

We take your future success seriously and recognize graduate school is a financial demand. To support ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ success, below are the funding opportunities that focus on FSW graduate ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs:

1.  Based on academic achievement and essay responses, $1000 per ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ.
2. Marjorie Post Farrington Scholarship: Based on academic achievement, financial need, $1000 per ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ.
3.  Individual awards will vary between $1-5K per academic year. Prioritizes those with a previous degree from ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ but all incoming and returning ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs are eligible to apply. Awards are based on both documented financial need as well as previous academic success. This award is not renewable.
4. : Based on academic achievement and essay responses.

Graduate ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs may be able to be awarded full or part-time Assistantships. Recipients received an annual stipend and also receive full or partial tuition waivers and partial remission of the out-of-state tuition surcharges (if applicable, depending on the specific award). Graduate ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs who are awarded an FSW Assistantship are assigned to an FSW faculty member and assist her/him with teaching and research activities. Assistantship responsibilities range from 10-20 work hours per week, depending on the nature of the award. Students in the Master of Social Work program are not eligible to be awarded graduate assistantships.

EHS Scholarships

The College of Education Health and Society (EHS) offers many financial opportunities for ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs through scholarships and Assistantships.

University Scholarships

Most Miami scholarships are administered by the Office of Financial Aid, 121 Nellie Craig Walker Hall, 529-0001, and require documented financial need.

Prospective ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs should also be aware of , which is designed to help make a Miami degree accessible to all academically qualified ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs. Any Ohio resident entering Miami’s Oxford campus as first-time, full-time freshman in the fall will be considered for the scholarship program. Students must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by February 15, be eligible for federal aid, and have a total family income equal to or less than $35,000.
