Laura came to Miami in 2001 and graduated in December 2005, with a bachelor’s degree, double major in Early Childhood Intervention Specialist and Mild/Moderate Intervention Specialist. She played Volleyball for two seasons (Fall 2002 and Fall 2003). She also served as an assistant volleyball coach for six seasons (2005-2010). In 2002 she was ORCC Honorable Mention, ORCC All-Academic (3.83 GPA), and the Miami Hamilton Best Offensive Player Award. She had the team high 68 kills and 27 aces that year. In 2003, she was the ORCC First Team All-Conference Player and again, the Miami Hamilton Best Offensive Player Award. While at Miami Hamilton, Laura also found time to work at Campus Kids, our on-campus childcare center. Laura currently lives in Trenton, OH, and received her Masters's Degree in Education in 2010. She is in her 9th year as an intervention specialist for the Hamilton City Schools and is currently teaching at Bridgeport Elementary, where she is also the head of the Special Education Department. She volunteers her time with the Joe Nuxhall Miracle Leagues in the planning of future projects and loves being an advocate for children with special needs.

Sarah attended ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ from 2002-2006, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting. She was a member of the MUH women’s basketball team all four years she attended Miami, playing in 84 games throughout her career, averaging 9.9 pts/game. She played on the ORCC runner-up team in 2004, on the 2004 State Tournament Championship Team, and on the Championship Team in 2005. Sarah was Second Team all ORCC in 2005-06 and was Academic All-Conference for four straight semesters from Fall 2002 through Spring 2004. After graduation, she enjoyed volunteering with the girl's basketball program at New Miami with Coach Terry for two seasons. She currently works at Staples and has been there for 11 years.

Matt attended Badin High School before coming to MUH. Matt played on the Harriers Baseball team from 2000-2002, and attended ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ from 1999-2003, receiving a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, with an emphasis in Public Relations. In his three seasons as a Harrier, his batting averages were .381, .341, and .311, averaging .340 in 377 at-bats, with 90 RBIs. In all three seasons, he was on the ORCC League and Tournament Championship teams. In 2000 Matt was Second Team all ORCC, and in 2002 he was ORCC All-Academic. He will always be remembered for his stellar performance against the ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ Redhawks in May 2001, where he struck out 12 over nine innings, scattering 10 hits, in a 9-1 win over the Oxford Campus. That season he ended up with a 5-3 record and a 4.37 ERA. He played two years of college summer ball and two years of “30 and up baseball”. He currently works for the City of Hamilton as the Supervisor of Maintenance and has been married for two years, and has one son and one daughter. His son is left-handed, just like his dad, and just started playing baseball this year. His daughter is an awesome soccer player.

Steve began his journey at Miami Hamilton in 1968, as the Hamilton campus was opening. As one of our original ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs, he tells the story about attending classes as drywall was being hung, and how everyone took it in stride.  That first winter, Steve played for Miami Middletown, under coach Lynn Darbyshire, as the Hamilton campus didn’t field a team that year.  He later did join the MUH Chiefs under Jim Adams, both as a basketball player and a golfer. After attending a few classes throughout the years at Miami Hamilton, Steve returned to school after a career at General Motors.  He says that at age 37 and the closing of the GM plant, it was time for a change and a goal of becoming an elementary teacher.  In 1988 he spoke to the athletic director about having a golf team for the spring and was told that in order to have a team, they needed a coach. So Steve became a player/coach and in the following year, Gayle Kist-Kline became the athletic director and Steve became the Assistant AD. He graduated from ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ at age 40 and coached golf for one more year until his teaching schedule conflicted with coaching. Steve started his long drive career in 2001 and in 2005 he became a ReMax World Long Drive Champion defeating NBA Hall of Fame member Rick Barry.  He continues to compete actively and finished second in his age division last year.

Mr. Richardson’s career in athletics, personal fitness, and overall wellness began very early on. Prior to his years as a ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ, Vince coached Football at New Miami High School, Hamilton High School, and Middletown High School. He also was a mentor to countless individuals through the Butler County Joint Vocational School, the Hamilton Central YMCA, and as the executive director of the Booker T. Washington Community Center. Vince also worked for a year at the Warren CorrectionalInstitute, as an Activity Therapist and Head Men’s Basketball Coach. Vince graduated from ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ in 1993, with a degree in Physical Education. He served as Director of Athletics and Recreational Sports from 1997 through 2008, and he served as Head Men’s Basketball Coach from 2001-2003. He also was a Physical Education, Health, and Sports Studies Instructor from 1999 and 2008. He currently lives in Clearwater Florida, where he coaches football at St. Petersburg High School.
