• Applicant must have earned degree(s) from a university recognized by the country’s Ministry of Education with a minimum GPA of 3.0 after credential evaluation.
• If required, the applicant must meet a minimum level of English proficiency.
  • TOEFL iBT total score greater than or equal to 87. 
  • IELTS overall band score greater than or equal to 7.0.
  • Duolingo overall score greater than or equal to 120.
• Students must be on an F or J visa.
• Students in a Market-Driven Tuition program are NOT eligible for this award.
• Students are not eligible to hold a Graduate Assistantship and IGIA award in the same semester; if a ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵ is subsequently offered a Graduate Assistantship and wishes to accept, they must decline the IGIA.

Nominations are due annually on Feb. 15 (round 1 consideration) or Mar. 15 (round 2 consideration), and they must be submitted by the Graduate Director or Department Chair using an online Qualtrics nomination form available from the Graduate School.

Nominations will be accepted after Mar. 15 if awards are available.

• IGIA awards are valid for up to one academic year (fall and spring semesters).
• Recipients must be enrolled full-time in a degree program.
• IGIA waivers cannot be transferred to a new degree program.

• This award is intended to be for one year. Students can be nominated for a second year of funding, but new incoming ¾Ã¾ÃÈÈÊÓƵs will be prioritized and there is no guarantee of a second year of funding.
• Students nominated for renewal must have earned a 3.0 or greater GPA.
