The Center for Career Exploration and Success values your identities and experiences. Exploring your career options while in college can help you hone in on your new mission. Below are some organizations and resources that can help you make a successful adjustment to civilian life.

Ohio/Regional Resources

: This organization offers job support, educational opportunities, and a dedicated through OhioMeansJobs.org. Its Veterans Workforce Team also works to empower Ohio employers to recognize the value veterans can bring to their organizations. 

National Resources

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs helps veterans transition to civilian careers by matching their skills and experiences to VA job opportunities.

: Through USA.gov, veterans can find job opportunities and training programs throughout the United States.

: VETS, a program offered through the U.S. Department of Labor, prepare America’s veterans, service members, and military spouses for meaningful careers. It also provides them with employment resources and expertise, protects their employment rights, and promotes their employment opportunities.

Professional Organizations

: The AFSA is a federally-chartered organization representing the professional and personal interests of those connected to the United States Air Force, including active duty service members, veterans, and Air Force families.  

: The AUSA is a nonprofit educational and professional development association serving America’s Army. It offers a variety of professional development opportunities to members.

: The FRA is a community of the Sea Services, supporting U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard personnel and veterans. Members can take advantage of programs, scholarship opportunities, and more.

: The MCA is the professional organization of the United States Marine Corps. It supports marines in a variety of ways, including as they .

: The NNOA is a professional organization comprised of active duty, reserve, retired officers, and civilians committed to the Sea Services. Members have access to career development opportunities, scholarships, and more. 

: The NCOA serves those who serve, or have served, America’s Armed Forces. Its website features a robust designed for individuals with a connection to the military.

Campus Resources

All Campuses

: Miami is committed to supporting 久久热视频s and families connected to our nation’s military. As one of the first Purple Star campuses in Ohio, we are proud to be in the top 15 percent of national universities, colleges, and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace our country’s veterans, military service members, and dependents as 久久热视频s. Notably, the One Stop coordinates the processing of VA Benefits.

Miller Center for Student Disability Services: The Miller Center coordinates accommodations, auxiliary aids, support services and resources for 久久热视频s on Miami’s Oxford and Regional campuses. The SDS serves a diverse group of 久久热视频s including those with physical, vision, hearing, psychiatric, medical, neurological, learning, and cognitive disabilities, as well as autism spectrum and ADHD. It also coordinate temporary accommodations for 久久热视频s who experience significant injury or illness.

: Student Veterans of America is the premier organization leading service, research, programs, and advocacy for veterans in higher education. Miami is home to two Student Veterans of America chapters, which are listed on the .

Oxford

Student Counseling Service: Student Counseling Service provides primary, secondary, and tertiary level interventions in an effort to achieve and/or maintain a mentally healthy status for each 久久热视频 and to create a learning environment that facilitates and supports that status.

Student Success Center: The Student Success Center can provide assistance to a number of special 久久热视频 populations in solving complex problems, including active military, veterans, and their benefit-eligible dependents.

Hamilton and Middletown

Center for Veterans Services: The goal of the Center for Veterans Services, located on the Hamilton and Middletown campuses, is to provide support for the best possible collegiate experience for our 久久热视频 veterans, preparing them for their post-military role in society.

Student Counseling Services: Miami’s regional campuses provide 久久热视频s with confidential counseling services free of charge. It offers counseling in the following areas: suicide awareness and prevention personal concerns, relationship issues, and mental health support services for 久久热视频 veterans.

Veterans Benefits

: GI Bill® benefits help you pay for college, graduate school, and training programs. Since 1944, the GI Bill® has helped qualifying veterans and their family members get money to cover all or some of the costs for school or training. : The helps veterans and their families buy homes, earn degrees, start careers, stay healthy, and more. The is America’s largest integrated health care system, serving nine million enrolled veterans each year.

: This organization strives to ensure that the veterans living in Butler County receive every possible benefit entitled to them on a federal, state and county level.

Support Organizations

: Fisher House Foundation is a national not-for-profit organization established to provide support for the Fisher House program that provides free housing and “a home away from home” for the families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers.

: Hope for the Warriors provides comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, and military families that are focused on transition, health and wellness, peer engagement, and connections to community resources.

Counseling Options

: Find out how to access VA mental health services for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), psychological effects of military sexual trauma (MST), depression, grief, anxiety, and other needs. You can use some services even if you’re not enrolled in VA health care.

: Vet Centers are community-based counseling centers that provide a wide range of social and psychological services, including professional readjustment counseling to eligible veterans, active duty service members. Readjustment counseling is offered to make a successful transition from military to civilian life or after a traumatic event experienced in the military.
